Well, I think we need a thread, on a board called the Hearth that will help us get to know one another, what are your beliefs, and/or your paths?

I am on an Irish Celtic path for 18 years now (gods I feel old saying that), and am a "worshiper" (for want of a more accurate term) of the Tuatha de Danann. I am a Reconstructionist of Celtic ways, and an Irish traditionalist. :)

Not if all gos as planned, lol. Wouldn't it be wonderful to reach the state where neither death nor life will have one fully, aka lich form. then one could spend an eternity honing one's skills and furthering one's knowledge...that would be great. I would love to see both sides of the veil equally.

I am on the left hand path. But I am also seeking to connect with my heritage(largely Germanic) through learning about the old way. I believe in the after life and that this one has much bearing on it. to what detail and extant though I cannot yet say.

We all get our chance to find out lol. :P

Heh, not me. I have no desire to live forever, I think Morgan Llewellyn in her fictional work "Druids" put it best when she said "Death is a way to forget those pains to cruel to remember". The way I figure it, why put to much stock in a single life time when a person can live a thousand. Death is but a pause in a long life IMO. :)

Hey, all! I guess I'm probably best described as a Universalist. I figure all faiths help guide poor ol' humans toward the light at the end of the tunnel. Thankfully, I doubt that it's an on-coming train. I see truth in all faiths, but persoanlly ascribe to Celtic and Native American, especially Cherokee, mythologies. I do my best to read up on as many religions as I can find info on and find that they all come back to the same things: take care of each other, take care of the place where you live. Simple dimple. I tend to use the terms "kitchen, garden, green witchery", but I don't think I'm wise enough to consider myself a witch. Ta-da!! There I am, sorta.

The Vedas I believe, say that in the beginning there was nothing but darkness, a Darkness so complete that the darkness could not be seen for the Darkness. Spirit drew in upon it's self. It is interesting for me how many ancient creation myths begin this way, the Vedas, the Torah, etc. I think Mel said it pretty good when she said, "For me, it wasn't about finding religion, it was about finding myself. Realizing who I am and putting a structure to the morals and guidlines I already adhear to in my life." Indeed, the very essence of Draíocht.

Spirit is the fire I think from which the light in the darkness begins, and a breath across the endless depths of mystery is the first act which draws in upon it's self in this self creation. It isn't about finding someone else's philosophies, or religion, it is about finding and creating ourselves in context to the 3-fold cosmos as the individual has come to understand it.

As always, nicely spoken, Coyote. And, I think, you have summed it all up quite concisely and accurately. Thanks for your insights!

It brings a smile to my face knowing we can come here and share our thoughts and opinions w/o being subject to the "I" am right and "you" are wrong statements... I have always had a huge heart for everyone no matter their beliefs, and I still do to certain point and that point being stated above the right and wrong one...I believe that we are all Pagans and our beliefs although they may differ at times makes us no less a person for so...We love, honor and accept all with open arms no matter your beliefs and or practices, no matter how far you are in your path. We are here to learn love and grow as one without strict bias to our paths and beliefs, and that is what makes us different from one another as well as makes us grow within each other. I love and cherish you all and your paths you follow... :o)

This, I think, is a throwback to the '50's. It's an indication of an ideal, as opposed to what the common practices of the times were. Every "American" ate large amounts of meat at each meal, had no qualms about war practices (remember, Viet Nam hadn't happened yet, so war practices were distant, and the general populace didn't quite "get it" yet.), and if you didn't get along with you neighbor, it was their fault, not yours. Gardner tried to popularize a notion of living a harmless life without a comprehension of our modern conscience. We hurt bugs when we walk on the grass, we hurt plants when we eat them, we cannot live without hurting something. Ergo, we do the best we can to live with doing as little harm as possible, like you said. Ta-da! Congratulations, you get it!!

I'm a solitary. I don't really follow any one tradition, but I would probably be mostly green and eclectic. I read a lot then follow my instincts.

As some know, though many do not, I frequently travel the left-handed path. I am more commonly known as a Chaote, though I quite dislike that term, however it does fit me.

My expertise is in Theistic and LaVeyian Satanism, Chaos Magic, The Golden Dawn, and more recently Aestheteka. I practice yoga as a purely Qabalahistic exercise. I combine aspects of cognitive, and psycho-analytical psychology into my beliefs. I also mix into my system of beliefs a bit of Rosicrucian and Gnostic Christianity.

Put simply, I am a Multi-Paradigmal Reality Connoisseur.

Hi to all,

After much reading, thinking, meditating and talking to my Goddess......I don't have or want a "label".

I follow my own path, which is solitary. If I had to try and find words for others to understand I guess Traditional witch, with some Hedgewitch and Kitchen witch with a smattering of Celtic would go some way.

I don't have a specific deity, but speak and pray often to "my Goddess". I don't do a lot of rituals.....I spend a great deal of time in the countryside with my Goddess, so don't need rituals to communicate with her.

I enjoy working with herbs and essential oils and I meditate often.

All good things to you all
