Make Kathy Lee accountable for her comments on the Today Show

This is directly from www.thepetitonsite.com:

"NASTY BAD PAGANS?" Protesting hate speech on NBC
Target:NBC, the TODAY Show, Kathy Lee Gifford & sponsor Samsung
Sponsored by: Ellen Everett Hopman & Dana Corby

On Wednesday, June 25, 2008, during a live broadcast of a wedding reception on the TODAY Show, Kathy Lee Gifford gratuitously referred to Pagans as "nasty, bad Pagans." Ms. Gifford's hate speech has done harm to American Pagans' ability to live in peace with our neighbors of other faiths. By allowing her hate speech to be broadcast, her direct employer the TODAY Show, and their network, NBC, participate in that hate speech.

This is a petition calling for, at the very least, an on-air apology. A TODAY Show program devoted to dispelling misconceptions about Pagans and Paganism would go a long ways toward undoing the damage.

Signers of this petition are also putting the sponsor of that TODAY Show segment, Samsung, on notice that we are conducting a BOYCOTT against them until such time as we receive justice.

Please help sign the petiton. The website is:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/quotnasty-bad-pagansquot-protestin...

We are owed an apology at the very least for a blanket comment as such.

Very Respectfully
Brandy

OH MY GOD!

She Should Be Shot!!!!!

roflmao... OK, seriously.... "Nasty, Bad Pagans",... Three words... That constitutes as a "Hate Speech"?

How many of you here are actually all that bothered by this? How many people find those three little words offensive?

I'd wager that those of you who are letting this get under your skin, are the same people who are going to, or have bad mouthed those of the Christian faith either on line, or in a conversation about choice of religion.

My Gods, are these words actually causing anyone all that much problem? Is this going to be the new "Burning Times!"

I'd suggest that if anyone is going to, or has let this get under their skin needs to take a long hard look at themselves, and if they are ready for the real ridicule that may come their way by choosing to follow the paths that they are currently on.

Long Live pointless Internet Petitions!!!!

Lala, This did crawl under my skin because I defended people who made blanket statements like this for four years. My husband is still defend people who make ignorant statements like this. Plus people's arugement on this is that if it were "Nasty bad Jews" or "Nasty bad Arabs" it would not have been said at all. Blanket Statements and Blanket comments as such only serve to dehumanize people. This is taught in every Equal Opprotunity (sp?) breifing in the military. If you don't want to sign it is your proagative.

I disagree, there have been a number of times that the media has portrayed the Mulims and Islamic people as far worse than "Nasty" and "Bad"

Three words, especially as idiotic as the ones that were used does not consitute a hate speech. It just means that more than likely, she'll be one of our next presidents.

Look at what Bush gets away with saying everyday.

LOL, are you sure she wasn't talking about Reggis?

Aren't we all entitled to our opinions? I agree that those who talk on TV should be held to a higher standard than those of us who don't, but she is protected by the first amendment to voice her thoughts on the matter, which is something that the military is fighting for, take that from one, it will be a matter of time before it is taken from all.

Also, consider your source Brandy, Kathy Lee has never been considered the quickest car in the race by anyone, the simple fact that this is now know to be her opinion on the matter, I'm sure people will convert to Paganism in hordes now. :P

See, I don’t watch Television for that simple fact right there, call me back woodsy, call me shallow, call me whatever you like, But DON’T call me a "Bad Nasty Pagan" .

I don’t watch BS television shows, I don’t watch BS politics shows, I don’t watch the News of any sort. The only time things of that nature affect me is when someone "Brings" it to my attention, in groups here, or calls me on the phone, or people I visit.

My life doesn’t revolve around what "THEY" are doing, it revolves around what "I" am doing. It highly disturbs me that someone, who is watched and known by millions, can get on National television and label "US" Bad Nasty Pagans, I guess like you said, some of you just aren’t affected, To me it's "MY" way of life, and yes it affects me and my family, and yes I am upset.

I don’t care who Kathy Lee Gifford is, what I care about is what she labeled "US" to be. I, among a few other will NOT be purchasing anything from Samsung in the future, until We have word that her statement was made right to "OUR PAGAN COMMUNITY"

Well, it is a good excuse to drink. :p

LOL dam right it is! Not to mention its Caturday!!
