I'm making soaps for Christmas presents now. Am making ball soaps, about the size of golf balls.

I use the pour and mold soaps, add my own scents and herbs and additives. Use different types of soaps.

Melt soap, pour into pouring container, add color and scents. Drizzle onto the bottom of a small sheet cake pan lined with parchment paper, with edges of paper extending over the sides of the pan.. Drizzle in stripes. Pour more soap base in another pouring container, adding different color and add the same scents. Drizzle that in stripes inbetween the first pour, making sure there are no open spaces left. Layers should be thin. At this time, sprinkle whatever color glitter over the entire pan.

Let this set up and cool off to the point that it is no longer liquid anywhere. Cut into 4-5 sections depending on the size of ball you want.
Gently raise the parchment paper up at the ends, working the soap to fold on itself using each section of soap you cut. Roll up into a short tube, lift out of pan. Roll in inbetween your hands until you are satisfied with the roundness. Set on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper to dry. Repeat for each remaining section of soap.

I like this because of the originality, and the varied look it has.

I put about 3 balls in the middle of a square of shrink cellophane, draw the corners up, forming a bag, crunch the ends together and tie with a pretty bow, or with rafia.
