MM Dawn,

I'm sorry that no one responded to your post here sooner.

I think that a lot of people with such a past are afraid of repeating what was done to them. But I also think that these are the ones that are most likely to break the cycle. *HUGS* I think you'll do fine, just keep remembering what it was like for you when your child is unconsollable and you're feeling frustrated. And if you're feeling frustrated or angry, set your child down and walk away for a bit. If she's a baby, make sure she's not hurt or in pain and leave her in her crib to cry for a bit to go sit on your porch or something. A baby never died from just crying. And when you feel calmer, then go to your baby and help her calm down.

I think you'll do great! And you can always send me an email or message me if you need someone to talk to.

I am even a foster parent, and my social worker, and counselor seem to think I do just fine, even my pediatrition says that I'm doing a good job as a first time mom. I just get scared, ya know.

Here is a question...
I am adopted, I had a very violent and abusive past. I just adopted my first child, and though I love her very much, More Than Life Itself actually. But I have a serious fear that i could one day be that evil person. My question is this, I was later raised by warm loving and caring people, do you think that is enough to keep my baby safe?
