I do remember now about reading something about the cultures following the migration of the animals down into the Americas because game had become scarce. I have a book somewhere packed up that talks about that. Didn't really remember...been a few…

lol, that's one of the ways that Ning sucks... I know that over on Proboards, I could set it up to not allow certain names, after they'd been used... We have a bunch of Rowans... this is the first Blackbird impostor I've seen though...

Hey BB... I have a big favor to ask... will you Mod the Cross Roads until the Druid gets back?

That's his baby, and I don't have much of anything valuable to add there, I think you do.

Prejudice

I have never out rightly been discriminated against for my religion. The most that has ever happened to me in the New Aged section of a bookstore was getting hit on by some numb-skull who either didn't notice the engagement ring or didn't care. I believe his pick up line went something like "Maybe we can hang out and you can explain all this witch stuff to me." Needless to say I laughed in his face and politely excused myself from the section.

I have never had any physical run ins or verbal one… Continue

Religion Bashing

I don't understand the need of some to bash other religions. Don't get me wrong, I am completely aware of the wrongs that many mainstream religions are responsible for. Maybe I should rephrase that. I am completely aware of what certain practitioners of mainstream religions are responsible for, but why burden yourself with it?

I am not saying don't go out and study history. I believe those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it, but why not just focus on your own faith? You can not over-ana… Continue

To Walk A Druid Line

Why do non-Reconstructionists assume that those of us that know our history don't acknowledge the spiritual? They assume that we don't spend time in nature, or honor the festivals, don't have altars or commune with the Gods or ancestors daily because we stick to scholastics and ask for references in online conversations.

The basics of magic(k) do come from books. Magick is the use of energy...which is pure Laws of Thermodynamics and Quantum Physics. However, I agree...books can only teach you t… Continue

Claiming "dark" goddesses...

After the "physical warriorness" post found earlier in my blog I received a very interesting email from the person who originally asked the question and I think we had a great conversation. I pointed out that perhaps they have been called by the Morrigan for something that has yet to happen that may change their perspective on war. This person actually admitted that to be a possibility and I think we ended our conversation with a decent level of understanding on both sides.

Here comes th… Continue

"May I ask how you incorporate physical 'warriorness' in your life this day and age?"

Another interesting question posed to me. This comes from a Yahoo group specifically focusing on the Morrigan (Irish Goddess of War, Lust and Death). Questions like this in a group that is, in essense, dedicated to war always makes me raise my eyebrow in confusion.

Question to me:

May I ask how you incorporate physical "warriorness" in your life this day and age?

And what would you say to someone who was called to this path who is not so into violence, let alone combat. there is little… Continue
