I am not a Reconstructionist, although I applaud their efforts and scholarship. I am not a Traditionalist, but I have much appreciation for their desire to seek the old ways. Instead, I am a thoroughly modern woman living in a global age of countless possibilities with a need to connect with my own ancestors and past. But that's just me.
The spiritual path I follow is grounded in the cultural similarities of the Celts, my ancestors. In the ancient times, practices varied greatly between the Celtic tribes, clans, even households. They were tied to the very land they lived on. However, many cultural similarities occurred, such as a view of the universe, creation and beyond, a particular value and social system, and a shared need to honor that which sustained them and that which created them (the ancestors).
I honor in particular the Gods and Goddesses of the Welsh culture. I honor this land that sustains me right here in southern Mississippi. I honor the Ancestors before me that brought me here. And I honor the age to which I was born. But that's just who I am.
